There’s nothing quite like a gun slinging soprano and Zulimar Lopez Hernandez’s Norina can handle high Cs and High Noon as cool as Clint. She can work a prairie skirt, holstered corset or opera gown. She certainly knows how to handle ‘Don Pasquale’ the dusty dude who thinks he can control her. The domestic mayhem is just some of the delights in this hilarious wild west production of Donizetti’s DP, transported from an Italian estate to a western saloon. Here she is scheming with her brother Doc Malatesta, who adds extra sauce to the roulade.
