Beethoven’s birthday and it’s wall to wall Ludwig van all day on WRTI. Why go out?

I love the story about a 17 year old Beethoven playing for Mozart, sullen and nervous and Mozart being completely distracted by the death of his father Leopold. Ludwig was worried about his mother who was very ill. Not happy with Wolfgang’s reaction to his playing, Beethoven asked him for a theme, so the Mozart went over to the clavier and played some opening notes to which Beethoven completely bloomed into a concerto. Wolfgang opened the door to his rooms and told waiting guests to “keep an eye on that young man…he will make a noise in the world someday.”
