“We may have been caged up physically, but many are caged in their heart” Lt. Dan Choi fighting for the repeal of the vile Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policies that are in place solely to discriminate against GLBT Americans. After two decorated deployments in Iraq, an Arab linguist and translator, a reservist in New York with the complete support of his platoon, Lt. Choi is being kicked out of the military under DA,DT. He was arrested yesterday after he and a fellow gay soldier chained themselves to the White House fence in protest of the policies.
Where have I been. Would love to report that I was away doing something fantastic or even vaguely interesting, but would be spinning tales. Course there was the day that my house keys whittled through a hole in my pocket while I was biking and when I got home I couldn’t get in. For deadlines, for work, for phone messages from my Mom. Boy can she project her voice. I found them but not before a frantic city search looking like a lunatic I’m sure, scouringing the the streets enroute to Sweat gym.
Anyway any excuse is a good one to be outside as the spring switch has been turned on, today in Rittenhouse Sq. it wouldn’t have looked out of place for the throng of pedestrians burst into Rogers and Hammerstein, if not Stephen Sondheim.
